About
BookletMaker turns any PDF into a print-ready booklet — saddle-stitched signatures, 2-up and 4-up imposition, cleanup tools, page numbers, watermarks, and an inline editor that lets you fix typos in baked-in text without going back to the source file. KEY FEATURES • Imposition: standard saddle-stitched booklets, mini-booklets (4 pages per side), 2-up, 4-up, or any custom n-up grid. Pick paper size, orientation, and direction; BookletMaker handles the page ordering and rotation. • Signature folding: configurable signature size from a single booklet to 32-page signatures. Built-in creep compensation pulls inner pages out by a configurable amount per sheet so the trim cut stays straight. • Cleanup: crop margins, remove blank pages, split landscape spreads into portrait halves, rasterize corrupted source PDFs, choose which page-boundary box (media / crop / trim) to use as imposition source. • Page numbers: pick position (top, bottom, inner, outer), font size, color, format token ({n} or {n} of {total}), starting offset, and skip-first behavior for cover pages. • Hole punch: leave the right margin for 2- or 3-hole binders with visual guides. • Watermark + letterhead: text watermark with adjustable opacity. Use any 1-page PDF as a letterhead applied to all pages, first page, odd, or even. • Color & ink: convert to grayscale or lighten content for draft prints. • Inline editor (Mac): tap a paragraph to edit text directly in the PDF — BookletMaker preserves the original font, size, and color, and reflows surrounding content so longer edits push down or shorter edits pull up. • Find & Replace: search across the document and replace every match with proper font matching. • Highlight, redact, sticky notes, ink, signature stamps. • OCR: run Apple Vision over scanned PDFs to make them searchable. Save the recognized text as a plain-text file. • Output: save imposed PDF, flatten annotations, export with a password, export each page as PNG / JPEG / TIFF, copy as PDF, or print directly via AirPrint. • Duplex printing — including non-duplex printers: prints fronts in one pass, then prompts you to flip the stack and reload the input tray so it can print the backs. Works on any AirPrint printer. • Booklet Factory: batch-impose dozens of PDFs in one run, drop the output to a folder of your choice. • Presets: save your settings as a named preset; presets sync across your devices via iCloud. PRIVATE BY DESIGN BookletMaker runs entirely on your device. Your PDFs never leave your Mac or your iPhone / iPad. No accounts, no cloud upload, no analytics on what you print. NOTES • macOS app supports inline text editing, find & replace, and the full Booklet Factory queue. iOS app supports the same imposition pipeline plus touch-driven highlight, redact, ink, and stamp annotations. • AirPrint via the system print panel. • Files-app integration on iOS: drop PDFs into BookletMaker's folder under "On My iPhone / iPad" and they appear in the queue.
