App Minutes shows how much time you have spent in apps today — right on your Lock Screen. One glance, no digging through Settings. WHY THIS NUMBER IS LOWER THAN SCREEN TIME App Minutes counts only the time you actually spend in apps and on websites. Time when the screen is merely on — the charging clock, StandBy, the Home Screen, Settings — does not count. In our own measurements that was nearly a fifth of the reported screen time. If Apple's number always felt too high to you, this is the number you actually meant. A DAILY LIMIT YOU CAN SEE Set a limit in minutes. The Lock Screen widget turns into a ring that fills up over the day. Full means you have reached your limit. You see where you stand without opening anything. THREE WIDGET SIZES Circular as a ring, rectangular with a bar and the time you have left, or a single line next to the clock. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU App Minutes has no network connection at all. No server, no account, no analytics, no ads. Your usage data cannot leave your iPhone — there is no code in this app that could send it anywhere. ONE HONEST NOTE The value is an approximation. It is built from usage thresholds that iOS confirms, so it can lag behind by up to five minutes, and it is deliberately not identical to Apple's Screen Time figure.
