WaveBrief provides marine forecasts, tides, and buoy observations for supported U.S. coastal and offshore locations. Coverage is limited to the United States and its coastal waters. Data availability varies by location, station, and source. WaveBrief brings forecast, tide, and station data into one clear iPhone and iPad experience. DATA SOURCES Forecast and alert information is provided by the National Weather Service. Tide, water-level, current, wind, and water-temperature products are provided by NOAA Tides & Currents. Buoy observations are provided by the NOAA National Data Buoy Center. Values may be converted to the units selected in WaveBrief and rounded for display. Data availability varies by location, station, and source. WaveBrief is independently developed and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NOAA, the National Weather Service, the National Data Buoy Center, or the United States Government. INFORMATIONAL USE Marine forecasts and observations may be delayed, incomplete, estimated, or unavailable. Conditions can change rapidly. WaveBrief is provided for general planning and informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for official warnings, local authorities, required navigation equipment, seamanship, or professional judgment. WaveBrief does not provide medical, health, swimming, boating, or navigational advice and does not determine or certify that conditions are safe or unsafe. PRIVACY WaveBrief does not require an account and does not use personal data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or cross-app tracking. Saved locations, recent locations, preferences, and widget information are stored locally on your device. When you select a marine point or use your current location, the selected coordinates are securely transmitted only to retrieve forecasts, tides, alerts, and buoy observations. No cloud sync is used.
