■ Rearrange a song after it is recorded "…" → Rearrange song. Choose a range of measures and repeat it, remove it, or insert blank space — across every track at once. Add another chorus, shorten a long interlude, or open up room to record into later, without playing anything again. Markers move with it, and the original files are kept, so Undo puts everything back. ■ Match the loudness of released music "Match loudness" on the export screen, with a choice of streaming (−14 LUFS) or louder (−9 LUFS). The song is measured first and then adjusted, so it holds up even on a phone speaker. ■ Automatic harmony The Harmony button in the waveform editor makes a new track a third, a fifth or an octave above. The start point never drifts. ■ Takes The performance you had before re-recording is kept. Swipe a track left → Takes to compare them and adopt whichever is better. Adopting keeps the other take, so you can go back and forth as often as you like. ■ Bring a track in from another song "…" → Import tracks. Take just the tracks you need from another song — open a file someone sent you and lift the vocal out of it, for instance. ■ The effects have been rebuilt All eleven were measured and the broken parts fixed. ・Overdrive: the gritty, lo-fi character has been rebuilt as a plain, honest distortion ・Compressor: the Ratio knob did nothing at all. It works now ・Vocal Rider: it used to drop the level badly. Fixed ・Wah: the output used to clip. Rebuilt as a proper band-pass filter ・Filter: cranking Resonance used to break up. Now kept in check ・Reverb: the type (plate, hall, cathedral and so on) was never applied. Fixed ・Delay: the repeats stayed bright and metallic. They darken naturally now, and there is a new Tone knob ・Chorus, Tremolo and Wah movement never made it into exported files. Fixed ・Frequency and time knobs now use a scale that matches how we hear ・Chorus has been withdrawn: with a single voice it only wavers in pitch and cannot give real width (ten effects now) ■ Three mastering templates Pop, Acoustic and Warm. "Match loudness" above takes care of how loud; these take care of the colour. ■ Please note Songs made with an earlier version may sound different through the effects. Tracks using Reverb, Delay, Vocal Rider or Chorus will have changed the most, because those were put right. If it bothers you, ease the knobs back on that track — for Delay, turning Tone fully right gives exactly the old sound.

About

Don't let it stay a hum. A multitrack recorder for writing songs on your own. Press the red button once: a new song is created and recording starts. No count-in, no click. ■ Overdubs that stay locked to the beat Takes line up with the click grid automatically, so the groove holds however many layers you stack, and you can split a waveform and nudge it in 5ms steps. Tempo can change during playback, and the click follows. Bluetooth earphones work too: their delay is measured without hand claps and your takes line up with the click. ■ Record along with a song you love ・Import a karaoke track and the tempo is matched to it, first beat at bar 1, ready to overdub ・Split a song into vocals and backing — the singing goes on a new track below ・Backing in both ears, the original vocal in one, and sing it yourself ・It all runs on your device; nothing is sent anywhere ・Re-measure the tempo and bar 1 later from the FX screen Please use commercial music only from sources you obtained legitimately, and privately. ■ Everything you need is already inside ・A 9-pad sampler with around 500 built-in sounds ・Sample straight from the mic (up to 60 seconds) ・Step sequencer with swing ・Turn a pad pattern into audio with one tap ・10 effects including EQ, reverb, delay and compression ・Five click sounds, with volume and pan ■ Write the chart as you record Chord charts in the layout you already know: chord names above a staff. ・All 12 roots, plus m, 7, M7, sus4, dim, add9 and slash chords ・Double-tap a measure for rhythm notation, beamed automatically ・Long-press a measure for its own time signature; transpose with one button ・Rehearsal marks, D.C., Fine, dynamics and rit. anywhere, any size or colour ・Write lyrics under the chords — on screen and in print ・Print to A4 with 1 to 15 rows per sheet ■ Rearrange the song afterwards Add another chorus, shorten an interlude, open up room to record into later. Choose a range of measures and repeat, remove or insert blank space — across every track at once. Markers move with it and originals are kept. ■ Shape it until it's right ・Waveform editing: trim, cut, gain and quantize ・Re-record only the part you select ・The performance before a re-record is kept as a take, to compare and adopt the better one ・Automatic harmony a third, a fifth or an octave above any track ・Marks, loop playback, punch in/out ・Change the key and tempo of the whole song, non-destructively ・Copy measures, bounce tracks into one ・Fold tracks into groups, so a long list stays readable ■ Hear it before you export Match the loudness of released music: streaming (−14 LUFS) or louder (−9 LUFS). The song is measured first, then adjusted, so it holds up on a phone speaker. For colour, choose Pop, Acoustic or Warm mastering, 0 to 100%. Switch while the song plays, then export to M4A or WAV, with a 1–5 second fade. You can also export each track on its own as a ZIP — same length, same start, tempo in the name, so they line up as they are in a computer DAW. ■ A tuner is built in Chromatic, plus guitar (Standard, Drop D, Open G/D/E/C, DADGAD) and sanshin (Honchoshi, Niage, Sansage). Reference pitch 415–466 Hz. Monitor lets you hear the mic through your headphones. ■ Lyrics and ideas in the same place Notes with photo and PDF attachments, and voice input for a lyric you don't want to lose. Chord charts live here too. ■ Stay organised as the songs pile up Sort your song list into folders, and folders inside folders. Swipe a song left to duplicate it. A deleted song is kept for 30 days. ■ Share a song as a single file Send it by AirDrop, email or iCloud. Whoever receives it can open it and carry on — and you can import just the tracks you need from a song someone sent you. Each song can also back itself up to iCloud Drive on its own switch (off by default). ■ English and Japanese Switch anytime from the in-app menu; the user guide switches with it. Made a mistake? Shake your device to undo. Start with Quick Rec and capture one phrase.
