Selfish 1.3 speaks your language, and brings four new themes. YOUR LANGUAGE • Selfish is now in German, French, Spanish and Japanese, as well as English. Every screen, menu and message follows your device's language, and so do the share sheet, the widgets, Siri, Shortcuts and the Mac's Services. • Your sites keep their own language. A site's pages and dates follow its settings, whatever language the app is in. FOUR NEW THEMES • Darkroom, for photographs: a contact sheet of square frames on near-black, and photos printed wide in every post. • Daybook, for a journal: each entry led by its date in the margin, so a note needs no title. • Handbook, for a project: its pages down a sidebar, like a manual. • Signpost, a link page: your picture, your name, and everywhere you are as a column of buttons. • Project page and Link page, two new kinds of site to start from. MAKE IT YOURS • Six typefaces for any theme, free, published with your site so readers load nothing from elsewhere. • Custom CSS: rules of your own, after any theme's, on every site. • Every theme reads more clearly, in light and dark. PUBLISH • A second destination: a folder to look at first, or a copy on another host, as well as your site. • Readers never see new pages in an old theme's style. AND • The app's own Settings, from the gear beside Sites, or Selfish ▸ Settings… on the Mac. • On an iPad keyboard, hold ⌘ to see the File and Site menus and their shortcuts. • On the Mac, words typed just after a photo, or at the start of a post that opens with one, are now always saved. • A title written wholly in Japanese, Chinese, Russian or another script that can't be an address now gives the post its date as its address. • A draft made with Shortcuts or the Mac's Services takes its address from its title when it's published.

About
Selfish turns plain-text posts and photos into a complete static website — clean HTML, your theme's CSS, every image, a sitemap and feeds — and publishes it straight to a place you control. No backend. No accounts. No tracking. Just your words, on your server. It's privacy-first and local-first by design. Your writing lives on your device and syncs across your iPhone, iPad and Mac through your own iCloud — never our servers, because we don't have any. Passwords, SSH keys and tokens are stored only in the Keychain, and photos lose their location before they're saved. WRITE • A clean composer with live formatting — bold, italic, links, headings, quotes, lists, code and footnotes • Photos, video and audio placed anywhere in a post, side by side if you like, with crop, rotate and captions • Notes without titles, scheduled posts, drafts you can share privately, and earlier versions of every post kept • Share pages, words and photos to Selfish from any app, and keep your drafts in a widget MAKE IT REAL • One tap builds a full static site: posts, pages, home page, archives, search if you want it, a sitemap, RSS and JSON feeds, even a podcast feed • Preview exactly what will publish, see what changed, and check the site for missing alt text and anything loaded from elsewhere • Run as many separate sites as you like — multi-site is first-class PUBLISH ANYWHERE YOU CONTROL • SFTP to your own web server (password or SSH key, with trusted-host verification) • Amazon S3 or any S3-compatible storage — Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, DigitalOcean Spaces, MinIO • GitHub Pages — sign in with GitHub, pick the repository, and Pages is switched on for you • Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, WebDAV (Nextcloud, Synology, Fastmail), or a folder in iCloud Drive or Dropbox • Only what changed is sent, and what you take down comes down MOVE IN, MOVE OUT • Bring your site from WordPress, Ghost, Substack, Medium, Hugo, Jekyll, Eleventy, Obsidian or any blog's feed — and old links keep working • Export everything, posts and photos, as Markdown any time — Hugo, Jekyll and Eleventy read it as it is THEMES Four free themes to start: Default, Modern, Classic, and Sky — a Bluesky-style social feed with a profile header, your own avatar and banner, and adaptive multi-image mosaics. Make any theme yours with an accent colour, a typeface, light or dark, and the width. Three premium themes unlock with a one-time purchase, usable across all your sites: Mono (monospace, terminal-adjacent), Editorial (magazine serif with drop caps and pull quotes), and Zine (bold, printed-zine energy). Nothing on the pages Selfish makes loads from anywhere else. BUILT FOR ALL YOUR DEVICES A single native app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Your sites follow you across them via iCloud. Selfish is for people who want to own their corner of the web — writers, makers, tinkerers — without renting it from a platform.
