Ossidex (formerly MedScan) opens DICOM and NIfTI medical images on iPhone and iPad: CT, MRI, dental cone-beam CT (CBCT), X-rays and ultrasound. Review downloaded studies offline, without an account or automatic scan upload. Scroll slices, adjust window/level and measure. Explore compatible volumes with linked multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), slab MIP and 3D. Compare MRI series side by side. Trace a dental arch for panoramic reconstruction and numbered cross-sections; export images and PDF reports. Try the built-in sample CBCT. Medical files: DICOM (.dcm, .dicom, .ima), DICOMDIR, Enhanced CT/MR; NIfTI-1/2 (.nii, .nii.gz). Archives and disc images: ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, GZIP, ISO, CAB. Images and reports: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, GIF, HEIC/HEIF, WebP, PDF. 3D surface models: STL, PLY, OBJ. Compatible DICOM exports from these manufacturers and their software: Planmeca (Romexis); Carestream Dental (CS 3D Imaging); Vatech (Ez3D-i); Dentsply Sirona (Sidexis); NewTom (Cefla/NNT); i-CAT / KaVo / DEXIS; PointNix; Siemens Healthineers; GE HealthCare; Philips; Canon / Toshiba; United Imaging. Other manufacturers work with supported DICOM exports. Proprietary viewer projects and raw scanner signals are not image formats. Camera RAW and video import depend on iOS codec support; archive encryption and file size can limit import. Import and 2D viewing are free.
