Brand mode uses each manufacturer's official wind range charts, adjusted to your weight; generic mode uses a proven weight/wind formula. Either way, the app applies a gust penalty so a gusty forecast doesn't push you toward a size that's too small, and shows two alternative sizes for stronger or lighter wind — with a visual comfort indicator so you can see at a glance whether you're in the sweet spot, at the low or high end, or out of range.
