New version 4.1.0 β†’ 4.1.1

Warmer, end to end A theme used to set one accent color and nothing else β€” the ground under every screen was the same near-black whichever one you picked. Now a theme sets the whole surface: the ground, the type and the accent together. Astro-Cartography opens warm. Six themes Ecliptic is a clay accent on warm charcoal, and it's what a new install starts on. Almanac is new β€” the same warmth in amber. Moonlight is neutral, Ethereal green, Aurora pink, and Astronaut the cold blue it has always been. Whichever theme you had already chosen stays chosen. The map Apple's map sits back now β€” desaturated, with points of interest off β€” so your lines are the only color on it. "All bodies" works: forty lines, every planet, at once. Each planet's labels keep to their own latitude, so they read as a ladder instead of piling up on the equator. The globe GLOBE was Apple's satellite imagery, and once the map sat back it was the brightest thing left in the app. It's drawn now, from the app's own coastlines β€” sphere, grid and land all in the theme's quiet tone, so your lines are the only color on it, at the same weights and dashes the flat map draws. Drag to turn it, pinch to close in. Tapping a line still names it, and a long press still drops a pin. Appearance The screen shows what it sets instead of listing hex codes. Your own Sun, Moon and Rising sit at the top and repaint as you move down the list, each theme is drawn in itself, and every planet row draws its line at the weight the map is set to. Your chart Every placement now names its house β€” Sun 10Β° Capricorn, 10th house β€” from cusps the wheel has been drawing all along. Every line names its direction: 744 km, west. Sun, Moon, Rising and Midheaven carry their degrees. Settings Your birth moment leads now, with the birth time the screen never used to show, and your birthplace is drawn rather than listed β€” the country in your theme's own colour. The settings under it are grouped into what you see and how it works. Help opens the full guide inside the app, and still works with no signal. Faster The map used to throw away everything it had computed each time you left the tab, then recompute it on the main thread when you came back. It keeps its work now, and that work happens off the main thread. The same moment is never computed twice, whichever place you ask about. And scrubbing time no longer rounds the sky to the nearest hour.
