About
Plan your voyage smartly with up-to-date current and wind data for the North Sea, the Dutch Wadden Sea and now the entire French coast. Easily view tidal currents by location, date, and time – including direction and speed. Covers the Netherlands AND the whole of France: • Netherlands – North Sea, Wadden Sea, and the Zeeland/Scheldt delta. • France – one continuous coastline from the Belgian/Dutch border all the way to the Spanish border. The full French coast (free, offline, SHOM data): • Strait of Dover / Pas-de-Calais – Calais, Dunkerque (Dunkirk) and Boulogne, connecting straight on to the Dutch coast. • English Channel (La Manche) & Normandy – the Baie de Seine (Le Havre), the Cotentin peninsula and the famous Raz Blanchard / Alderney Race off Cap de la Hague near Cherbourg (up to ~10 knots on springs, one of Europe’s strongest tidal races). • Channel Islands & the Golfe Normand-Breton – Saint-Malo, Jersey, Guernsey and Paimpol, plus North Brittany (Roscoff). • Atlantic coast / Bay of Biscay (Golfe de Gascogne) – West Brittany (the Iroise, Ouessant/Ushant, the Raz de Sein and the Rade de Brest); South Brittany; the Pertuis Charentais (La Rochelle, Île de Ré, Oléron); the Gironde estuary; and the Loire. With the interactive map and clear timeline, you’ll always have a complete overview of sea conditions – whether you’re crossing the Wadden Sea, threading the Alderney Race off Cherbourg, hopping to Jersey from Saint-Malo, or rounding Ushant in the Bay of Biscay. France data comes from SHOM (the French hydrographic office), is completely FREE (no extra purchase) and works fully offline. What you get: • Animated, arrow-based current visualisation • Wind forecasts via GRIB • Nautical chart (OpenSeaMap) • Tide tables and a departure planner • A free tide widget and an Apple Watch app • Optional departure & tide alerts (Stroomatlas Pro) New in this version: • Tidal currents for the entire French coast – the English Channel (La Manche), Normandy and the Channel Islands now join the Atlantic coast / Bay of Biscay, all added free • Channel hotspots: the Raz Blanchard / Alderney Race off Cherbourg, Saint-Malo, Jersey, Guernsey, Roscoff and Calais/Dunkerque • Data from SHOM, fully offline • Apple Watch app, home screen tide widget and Stroomatlas Pro alerts remain available
