RigBoard

About

RigBoard is a workshop estimate for one semi-trailer load. Place the cargo, then read three checks on the same screen: axle share and tandem slide, strap working load, and offtrack. Set a rig once: kingpin-to-axle-group distance, slider holes, weight per hole, and the steer share of the kingpin load. On the board, name the load, set the cargo weight, and move the cargo center back from the kingpin. Both sketches and all three results update together. Axles. See how the cargo splits across the steer, drive, and trailer axles. These figures are the cargo share only and do not include tractor or trailer tare. Enter scale weights and the limits for your route, and RigBoard suggests how many holes to slide the tandems. Trailer overweight slides them back. Drive overweight slides them forward. If the remaining holes cannot bring an axle under its limit, the leftover overweight stays on screen and no further slide is suggested. Straps. Enter the strap count, the working load limit on the tag, and the angle from horizontal. The effective load of one strap is the tag limit times the sine of that angle, compared with the cargo weight. Offtrack. Enter a turn radius. The inner offset is the kingpin-to-axle-group distance squared, divided by twice the radius. A top view shows the outer and inner paths. Save the load and open it later. Search saved loads by name, review the inputs and results, then edit on the board or delete. Calibrate weight per hole from two scale tickets of the same load at two hole positions. Results are an estimate. A certified scale, the working load limit printed on the strap tag, and the legal limit on your route control. RigBoard does not replace a scale ticket. Weights and lengths are kept in pounds and inches. You can switch the display to kilograms and meters. Everything stays on this device. No account, no network, and no ads.
