About
Ukuma is a personal library for your EPUBs and PDFs. Add your books, and Ukuma organizes them for you with Apple Intelligence, right on your device. Your books stay yours: they live in your own iCloud, and nothing is collected or tracked. YOUR BOOKS, BEAUTIFULLY KEPT • Add EPUB and PDF books to one library on iPhone, iPad and Mac. • Browse as cover tiles or as a list, and hide the sidebar to browse like a bookshop. • Sort and filter by title, author, tag, genre, language and series. • Mark books as read or unread, and edit any detail yourself. • Use bulk actions to tidy up many books at once. A LIBRARIAN ON YOUR DEVICE • Apple Intelligence writes a short introduction for each book. • Genres, language and series are detected for you, with books in series kept in order. • Messy titles from book files are cleaned up. • Missing details can be filled in, and any book can be analyzed again. • Background work shows its progress on the dashboard. NO BLANK COVERS • Books without a cover get one designed by Ukuma. • Image Playground can illustrate it from a scene Apple Intelligence imagines from the book itself. A CALM PLACE TO READ • Built-in readers for EPUB books and PDF documents. • Ukuma keeps track of how far you've read. • Books can't reach the internet while you read, so a book can't track what or when you read. YOUR LIBRARY, EVERYWHERE • Your library syncs across iPhone, iPad and Mac through your own iCloud. • See sync as it happens: download and upload progress, how many books are on this device, and when your library last synced. • Download one book or all of them, and remove local copies to free up space. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No accounts, no ads and no tracking. • We don't collect your data or run servers that store it. • Book analysis runs on your device. Apple Intelligence and Image Playground features need a compatible device with Apple Intelligence turned on. Your books. Your data. Your library.
What's new · 1.1
Ukuma is now on iPhone. NEW • Ukuma now runs on iPhone, with your library synced across iPhone, iPad and Mac through iCloud. • Filters made for iPhone: your library opens straight away, and the Filters button opens Genres, Languages and Series in one sheet, with Clear All. The button shows how many filters are on. • iPad windows in Split View and Slide Over use the same compact filters. • Watch iCloud sync as it happens: tap the iCloud button to see download and upload progress, how many books are on this device, when your library last synced, and anything that needs attention. • On a new device, Ukuma shows that your library is arriving from iCloud instead of showing an empty library. IMPROVED • Books can no longer reach the internet while you read, so a book can't track what or when you read. • Copies made for sharing a book are deleted as soon as the share sheet closes. • Files over 500 MB are turned away with a clear message instead of slowing down or closing the app. FIXED • Filters no longer hide the library behind a Back button on iPhone.
