Maozai: Your Pocket Cat

About

Maozai is a cat that keeps you company on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Bring home one of six free kittens and give it a name. From then on it has a day of its own: it works, knits, zones out, and goes to bed at night. And it keeps an eye on yours. IT GETS HUNGRY WHEN YOU SHOULD EAT At mealtimes it sits by an empty bowl and comes to find you. Tell it you're eating with one tap and it eats too. Between meals it gets thirsty, which means it's time for a glass of water. At night it tells you it's off to bed, and in the morning that it's up. IT MOVES WHEN YOU MOVE With your permission, Maozai reads your steps, exercise minutes, heart rate and activity rings from Apple Health. Go for a run and it works out along with you. Every 2,000 steps earns it a fish treat. Close all three rings and it puts on a party hat. If your heart is racing while you're sitting still, it comes to check on you. IT TALKS BACK, BRIEFLY Say good night and it curls up. Tell it about your day and it answers in character, in your language. Its replies are short, because it's a cat. If you allow it, an AI language model writes the replies; if you'd rather not, it answers from simple rules on your phone and nothing you write leaves it. IT KEEPS A DIARY One line a day about the day you actually had: the steps you walked, the meals you ate together, how many times you petted it. ON YOUR WRIST On Apple Watch the cat is one glance away. Hold to pet it, turn the Digital Crown to tease it, and answer its reminders with a single tap. Your iPhone and your watch stay in step. MYSTERY BOXES Six more breeds come in cardboard boxes: Ragdoll, Minuet, Bengal, British Golden, American Shorthair and Norwegian Forest, $1.99 a box. Before you pay, the box lists who could be inside and the odds of each. You never get a cat you already have, so six boxes always bring all six. The cats you open are yours to keep: bring any of them home whenever you like, and every cat keeps its own chats and diary. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No ads. No tracking. The diary and your health data never leave your devices. Chat messages are sent to an AI language model only after you say yes, are processed in the United States, and are not kept. FREE, WITH OPTIONAL BOXES AND SUBSCRIPTION The six free kittens and every feature are free: the cat, its reminders, the diary, Apple Watch, and 20 chat messages a day answered by the AI language model. Mystery boxes are one-time purchases, separate from the subscription. Maozai Plus removes that daily limit (fair-use cap: 600 messages a day). $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the United States; prices vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
