About

Bouldering & Rope Climbing counts your climbs for you. Start a session on your Apple Watch, climb, and every ascent is counted from the watch's barometric altimeter. No tapping between problems, no phone on the mat, no logbook to fill in later. I made this app for my own sessions. I wanted to know how much I actually climb without stopping to write it down, so the watch does the counting and the iPhone keeps the story. ON YOUR WRIST • Counts every climb automatically from height, for bouldering and rope. • Live height gauge, climb count, total vertical, heart rate, and a rest timer that starts the moment you step off the wall. • A tap on the wrist when a climb counts, and an optional nudge when you have rested long enough. • Mark the last climb as sent and tag its grade with one tap, now or later. • Set the minimum height a climb has to reach, so a few moves on the start holds don't count. • Pick your gym on the watch and the right grading follows. • Every session is saved to Apple Health as a Climbing workout, with elevation, heart rate and calories. LIVE ON YOUR IPHONE • Follow the session as it happens: height, heart rate, climb count and the altitude trace, with a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. • Name a problem, grade it, add photos and a note straight from the mat, while the session runs. • Log a failed attempt on a project, with its grade. • Copy the details of a problem you have climbed before onto today's climb. EVERY SESSION, IN DETAIL • Climbs, sends, total vertical, highest climb, duration, heart rate, calories and effort. • The altitude trace of the whole session, session rhythm, cumulative vertical, ascent speed and the heights you reached. • Heart rate during each climb and how fast it recovers afterwards. • Sends and attempts per grade, and a map of where you climbed. • Fix what the altimeter got wrong: trim a recording you forgot to stop, delete a false climb, edit any detail. WATCH YOURSELF GET STRONGER • Climbs and vertical per week, your best sent grade over time, and a grade pyramid that grows with you. • A consistency calendar of the last four months, and time in each heart rate zone over the last four weeks. • Lifetime records: your total vertical next to the Eiffel Tower, Burj Khalifa, El Capitan and Mount Everest. • Filter everything by bouldering or rope. YOUR GYMS, YOUR GRADES • Save your gyms and outdoor spots, each with its own grading: Font, V-scale, or your gym's own circuit colors and numbers. Rope climbs use the French scale. • Add a location, and starting a session nearby makes that gym the current one automatically. • Heights in meters or feet. ALWAYS WITH YOU • Every session lands on your iPhone and syncs through iCloud, so your log is on your iPad too. • A Home Screen widget with this week's climbs and vertical, and a watch complication that starts a session. • Sample data lets you explore the app before your first session. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no sign-up, no tracking. Your sessions stay on your devices and in your own iCloud, your workouts in Apple Health. I don't see any of it. Requires an Apple Watch running watchOS 26 or later to record sessions, and an iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Climbs are detected from changes in altitude, so it works indoors with no GPS needed.
