Your photos. Your server. PrismOwn connects your iPhone and iPad to your own PhotoPrism server. Explore your collection, upload selected photos and videos, and identify confirmed backups. YOUR COLLECTION, WITH YOU Browse your PhotoPrism gallery with search, filters and sorting. Available content and views depend on your server and its permissions. CHOOSE WHAT TO BACK UP Select your photos and videos, then start the upload. Keep track of progress and job status. EVERY PHOTO AND VIDEO AS YOU SEE IT PrismOwn knows all the components of a photo or video that Apple documents, including still frames you have saved from a video. Whether it is a cropped photo, an edited Live Photo, a portrait or an edited RAW photo: PrismOwn backs up the current version, exactly the image or video you see in Apple Photos. Original images and raw data from before editing are not uploaded. Unedited items are backed up completely. For slow motion and similar videos without a finished version, PrismOwn computes the version you see itself; the original high-frame-rate recording is not uploaded. If PrismOwn cannot yet back up an item reliably, it is not uploaded and is marked with a no-entry symbol. It stays on your device and is never offered for deletion. Once a later version supports the item, the mark disappears on its own. IDENTIFY CONFIRMED BACKUPS Once complete and correct receipt is verified, a backup mark identifies your backed-up items. The backup filter shows confirmed items that are still on your device. DELETION IS YOUR DECISION After a backup is confirmed, you can explicitly request deletion from Apple Photos. iOS asks for your approval; files on PhotoPrism are kept. This removes the entire item, including originals and raw data that were not backed up. With iCloud Photos enabled, deletion also affects iCloud and connected devices. Recently Deleted may delay storage being freed. A GUIDED START The introduction explains the main controls. Available in German, English, French and Spanish. Technical diagnostics are optional and off by default. BACK UP NEW PHOTOS AUTOMATICALLY Optionally, PrismOwn backs up new photos in the background even when the app is closed: iOS starts the transfer, PrismOwn uploads the photo to your server and confirms the backup the next time you open the app. Off by default; only unedited photos (including Live Photos) taken after enabling; no videos or RAW; no deletion prompt. FAVORITES AND SHARING Mark favorites in the server gallery and share a photo or video through the iOS share sheet. FULL VERSION The download is free. New uploads and the server gallery require the full version – as an annual auto-renewing subscription or a one-time purchase. Prices and any trial offer are shown by the App Store before you buy. REQUIREMENTS Your own compatible PhotoPrism server and sign-in credentials are required. Hosting and server storage are not included. Relevant functions require network access and iOS permissions. iOS determines whether and for how long background execution is available. PrismOwn is an independent client compatible with PhotoPrism, not an official PhotoPrism app. SUPPORT AND BUG REPORTS There is no personal support for PrismOwn. No help is provided with installing, setting up, operating or troubleshooting PhotoPrism, hosting, networks or other third-party software. You can report app bugs and accessibility barriers. You will not receive an individual reply. Reports may be reviewed at our sole discretion and, where appropriate, taken into account in later versions. No reply, handling, fix, implementation or timeframe is promised. Statutory rights and the communication they require remain unaffected.
