About
Pick a nearby place, tap Save, and your iPhone calendar keeps track of where you were and when. Dropin saves each check-in as a regular calendar event. Because it lives in your own calendar, you can see it in the Calendar app and on any other device that syncs the same calendar. No account required. ■ KEY FEATURES • Check in with four taps Tap the “+” button, Location, a suggestion, then Save. The start time is set to now and the end time uses your default duration. • Nearby places, ready when you are As soon as you open a new event, Dropin starts finding places around you in Apple Maps. Places you visit often appear at the top, ordered by how often you use them, so your usual café or office is always the first row. You can also search by name. • Start from outside the app Add the Check In control to Control Center, the Lock Screen, or the Action button, or use the Check In action in the Shortcuts app. Either way, Dropin opens straight to nearby places. • Real calendar events Places from Apple Maps are saved the same way as when you choose a location in the Calendar app, so maps and travel time work there too. If a place has a website, its URL is filled in for you. • Easy to adjust Change the date, set the time in 5-minute steps, and pick a duration from 15 minutes to 3 hours. Your check-ins are listed by date in the app. Tap one to edit it, or touch and hold to delete it. ■ GREAT FOR • Logging lunch breaks • Tracking hours at a café or coworking space • Recording client visits and site stops • Remembering gym days and doctor visits • Keeping track of places you stop by on a trip ■ PRIVACY Your place history and settings stay on this device. The only data Dropin sends out goes to Apple Maps to find places, and none of it is sent to the developer. ■ GOOD TO KNOW • Dropin needs full access to your calendar. • Without location access, you can still check in from your place history or by typing a place name.
