Raaz

About

Raaz helps you discover the history of places around you and moments from each day. ATLAS Enter an exact year, from deep history to 2025, and explore recorded borders, cultures and historical sites. Follow a place to its Atlas story, or move from the map to a dynasty, its rulers, family tree and biographies. Historical boundaries are estimates from the available record. NEARBY HISTORY ALERTS Opt in to be notified when you enter about 1 km of a monitored historical site with a Raaz story, even when the app is closed. Raaz uses precise and background location on your device to compare your position with its offline site index. Raaz does not receive your coordinates. You can turn alerts off at any time. Location services may delay or miss an alert, and the device monitors a rotating set of nearby sites. TODAY IN HISTORY Browse a short selection of historical events for each day. Each item links to its source and license. PLACES Search an offline index of historical sites and landmarks around the world by name. Open an available Atlas story to learn more and see its sources. YOUR SHELF Save daily events on your device and return to them later. Today and the place index work offline; the Atlas and stories require internet access. No account is required. Historical entries are for exploration and may need further verification before citation.
