About
Sauce Book is a recipe book for people who make their own hot sauce: the ferments, the roasted batches, and the one you'll never get quite right again unless you write it down. EVERY SAUCE IS A LABEL Pick a color and start cooking. The name can wait. Each sauce gets a number it keeps for life, so No. 07 is still No. 07 thirty sauces later. The book puts what you made last at the top, shows what's fermenting and for how long, and search finds a sauce by its name or anything in it. TYPE IT THE WAY YOU'D SAY IT Type "200g habanero, roasted" and hit Return. Sauce Book reads the amount, the unit and the ingredient, and anything after a comma becomes a note. Suggestions come from common ingredients and from your own sauces, with the amount you used last time. Paste a whole list and every line lands in place. There's no Save button: leave the page and it's saved. COOK FROM IT • The sauce page reads like a recipe card: ingredients, method, notes. • Scale the batch to half or double, or tap an amount and type what's on the scale. The rest of the page follows, and the recipe itself never changes. • Sauce Book works out the salt percentage from your ingredients and puts it on the label beside the pH. • The screen stays awake while a sauce is open. EVERY BATCH • Tap Made it to log a batch: what changed, how it turned out, the pH, a photo. • Fermenting? Give it a start date and the label counts the days until you bottle it. • Riff on a sauce to try something new without losing the original. • Send a recipe card as an image. Your journal stays private. IPHONE, IPAD AND MAC On iPad the book sits beside the open sauce, with keyboard shortcuts. It also runs on Apple Silicon Macs. Your book syncs between them through your own iCloud. YOURS No account to make, no ads, no tracking. Your recipes live on your devices and in your iCloud, and I never see them. SUPPORTER (OPTIONAL IN-APP PURCHASE) Sauce Book is free, and everything a recipe book needs stays free.
