Nearplane makes a manual macro focus stack easier to prepare and finish. Enter the depth you want to cover, your intended aperture and magnification, and an overlap target. The app shows an estimated sharp band, a conservative rail move, an exact number of frames, and each indexed position from the nearest plane to the far edge. For a plan based on your own lens, photograph a depth scale and enter the sharp band you measured. The app recalculates every position. At the camera, mark exposures as you make them; your progress is saved locally, and you can undo a mark. Share a real multipage PDF field sheet with setup values, positions, and boxes for notes. Save and reopen multiple plans. An included sample demonstrates the workflow. The estimate uses a simple symmetric-lens depth-of-field approximation and your chosen circle of confusion. Lens design, focus breathing, rail movement and subject motion can change real-world coverage. Confirm a short test stack before an important shoot. Nearplane does not control a camera or rail, capture photos, merge images, or promise sharpness. No account, subscription, ads, analytics, tracking, cloud sync or developer-server upload. Plans remain on your device unless you choose to share a PDF.
