Bugs have moved into Bao's bamboo, and Bao is hungry. Chubby bugs are climbing Bao's bamboo poles: ladybugs, beetles, bees, caterpillars, moths and snails. Only the bugs on the top piece of a pole can fly. Tap one and it flies to the bar; three of one colour fly home together. Clear every bug off a piece and Bao snaps it off and eats it, and the bugs below wake up. The trick is planning. Every colour is on show, but the bar only has a few slots, so take the wrong bug in a hurry and you run out of room. Drag to turn the island and pinch to zoom in to see who is waiting round the back. New tricks as you climb. From stage 20 an orange worm counts down: catch it in time or it lays three more worms down its pole. From stage 40 a bug sits in a cage until every bug of the padlock's colour is gone. Further on, spiders and buddy bugs take over a big bamboo tree. 999 stages in all. BAO THE PANDA Bao eats every branch you clear, one happy crunch at a time, and saves the best for last: the bamboo itself. THE GARDEN Between puzzles, visit the garden. The turtles wander about, Evie the rabbit keeps tipping them over, and Bao soaks in the pond. Hand out lettuce, give Bao some bamboo, send a turtle across the lawn on a skateboard. Nothing is scored there; it is just for taking it easy. THE SHOP Clearing puzzles pays coins. Spend them on a little help with the bugs, on hats and sunglasses for the turtles, and on new things for the garden. LIVES Every try costs a life, and winning gives it back, so you can keep playing as long as you keep winning. Lives also come back on their own over time, even while the game is closed.
