EXPLORE THE MAP Every dot on the map represents real people, colour-coded by country of birth, placed within the actual boundary of the city or town they call home. Pan and zoom anywhere in the country — from downtown Toronto to the smallest rural municipality — and watch the picture come into focus. FULL CITY & TOWN PROFILES Tap any place on the map to open its profile: total immigrant population, a trend chart of arrivals by period, and a ranked breakdown of top countries of birth. Tap any bar in the trend chart to jump straight to that period on the map. FILTER BY ARRIVAL PERIOD Drag the slider to filter the entire map cumulatively, from "before 1980" through to the present. Watch settlement patterns shift and grow as more recent waves of arrivals are added in.
