Learn Synths: Synthesis Course

About

Learn Synths teaches synthesis by letting you play it. Every lesson is the same synthesiser with a few more controls revealed. Lesson 1 is four waveforms and a scope. Lesson 49 is a full instrument with sequencing, effects, sampling and MIDI. Nothing is a recording. Every sound is synthesised as you touch it, and the waveform on screen is the one going to the speaker. THE COURSE 49 lessons in nine tracks: subtractive synthesis, sequencing, drums, FM, wavetable, additive, effects and mixing, sampling and MIDI. Each screen shows only the controls it teaches. A short quiz finishes every lesson. BEYOND THE COURSE Seven genre studies, from house to dubstep, as drums, bass and lead playing together with every knob open. Tours of Sylenth1 and Serum 2, section by section, each linked to the lesson that taught it. Eleven challenges: hear a classic sound, build it by ear, get scored. INSTRUMENTS AND PLUG-INS The synth, drum machine and sampler on their own, with presets, a sequencer and effects. The same three as AUv3 plug-ins for GarageBand, Logic, AUM and other hosts. MIDI USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi controllers, a MIDI monitor, velocity, mod wheel, pedal and aftertouch. The first three lessons are free. One purchase unlocks everything, forever, on all your devices. No subscription, no account, no ads. Sylenth1 is a product of LennarDigital. Serum 2 is a product of Xfer Records. Images used with permission.
