About

These are not programmed beats. They are 1,841 grooves played by real drummers, kept exactly as they were performed. Pick a genre and listen. Change a few hits. Let it run instead of a metronome click while you play. That is the whole app. What makes it different 1. 1,841 grooves played by real drummers Rock, funk, Latin, jazz, hip hop, soul and twelve more genres. Every one was played by a person, so the push and pull that a machine cannot fake is still in there. Preview any of them without leaving the list. 2. Start from a real performance, not a blank grid You never have to build a beat from nothing. Load a groove you like straight into the step editor and add or remove a few hits. The drummer's dynamics and the small timing shifts stay exactly where they were. 3. Your own groove instead of a click The practice screen loops what you built in place of a metronome click. Count-in, an optional downbeat click, and a setting that keeps the screen awake. Set everything before you pick up the instrument. 4. A drum kit that lights up as it plays See which drum is being hit: kick, snare, hi-hat, toms, cymbals. Watching the shape of the beat is the fastest way to learn it. 5. A grid you can actually hit with a finger Cells are 44 points, the size Apple recommends for touch. Pinch to zoom, and turn the phone sideways to see a whole bar at once. Fifty levels of undo and redo. 6. Detail where it matters Switch the grid between 1/16, triplets, 1/32 and 1/48. Notes are not locked to the grid, so flams and a little bit of swing both fit. Every hit has its own velocity. 7. Fully offline No network. No account. Nothing you make ever leaves your device. Who it is for - Guitar and bass players tired of practising to a click - Anyone curious about programming drums who finds a blank grid intimidating - Songwriters who need a rhythm bed quickly - Teachers and parents who want to show a child what a beat looks like Free forever - Browse and preview all 1,841 grooves by genre - Edit and save your own patterns - The practice screen - The standard drum kit One-time purchase Pay once, keep it forever. - Song mode: chain saved patterns into a song and play it through - Export as WAV audio or as MIDI - Transfer your patterns between iPhone and iPad as a single file - Extra drum kits: Room, Power, Electronic, TR-808/909, Jazz, Brush, Orchestral, Dance - Removes the banner ad Credits Drum patterns: Groove MIDI Dataset (Google LLC, CC BY 4.0) Sound: GeneralUser GS (S.
