Shafaq: Prayer Times & Qibla

About

Shafaq shows your day as a sky: the five prayers, computed on your phone with the method your community follows. No ads. No account. No questionnaire before you can see the time. THE DAY, DRAWN AS IT IS Prayer times are defined by the sun — Fajr when it is far enough below the horizon, Maghrib when it has set, Isha when the twilight has gone. Shafaq draws the sun's real path over your town and places each prayer on it, and the whole screen takes the colour of the sky outside: indigo before Fajr, blue at midday, the red-gold shafaq after sunset. TIMES YOU CAN TRUST • 22 calculation methods, including the Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura, Egypt, Karachi, Diyanet, JAKIM, Kemenag, MUIS, UOIF, the Moroccan Ministry of Habous, Tehran and the Shia Ithna-Ashari (Jafari) method • Standard or Hanafi Asr • Rules for high latitudes, for summers in the UK, Scandinavia and Canada • Minute adjustments for each prayer, to match your mosque's timetable • The Hijri date, adjustable for local moon sighting The calculation is tested against published timetables, including the Moroccan Ministry of Habous' own timetable for Rabat. ALERTS THAT KEEP COMING Choose an adhan, a soft chime or a silent banner for each prayer. iPhone limits how many alerts an app can line up in advance: about twelve days of five prayers. Shafaq keeps that limit full, tops it up whenever it opens or refreshes in the background, and tells you plainly before the alerts would run out. A test button lets you hear an alert right away. QIBLA, EVEN IN AIRPLANE MODE A single gold line on a quiet dial, computed from your coordinates along the great circle to the Kaaba, with the distance. YOUR SALAH, KEPT PRIVATE Mark each prayer as you pray it — on time, late or missed. Nothing is ever guessed for you.
