Lexical Entry Classification System (Core Changes) The original 18 primary categories have been restructured into 23 primary categories plus 91 secondary subcategories: 5 new primary categories added: Religion & Folk Customs, Idioms & Sayings, Function Words & Grammar, Proper Nouns, Abstract Concepts (split from roughly 2,400 entries previously lumped under "Others"). The proportion of entries under "Others" has dropped from 26% (2,325 entries) to 9.3% (832 entries). Examples of secondary subcategories: Human Body → Head, Neck & Facial Features / Limbs & Torso / Internal Organs / Physiological Phenomena / Physical Appearance; Food & Diet → Ingredients / Dishes & Food / Cooking Methods / Taste & Texture / Dining Venues. Fixed long-standing misclassification issues for single-character words (1,372 verbs, adjectives and function words) that were incorrectly placed under "Others". Also corrected multiple misassigned entries (e.g. "happy" no longer belongs to Human Body; "Taicheng" no longer falls under Utensils). ## II. Unit Overview Page Accessed by tapping category cards on the Learn page. It displays the full entry list of the selected category plus mastery statistics (Not Started / In Progress / Mastered with progress bar). Added a row of filter chips for secondary subcategories (All / Head & Facial Features 229 / Limbs & Torso 176…), which can be combined with status filters. The Start Learning button now only covers the selected subcategory; all entries will be included if no subcategory is selected. ## III. Review Flow Unit ordering priority: Not Started → In Progress → Mastered. Each round loads the first 50 cards, and automatically loads the next batch upon completion. Added Skip button. Supports review filtered by subcategory (URL with sub parameter). ## IV. Data Layer Database v12: Added subtag column to the entries table. Rebuild and data reimport happen automatically on launch; progress is preserved via hanzi|romaji key without impact. Entry model and Web helper updated to support subtag synchronously. A new subtag field is added for every entry in seed JSON files. ## V. Internationalization Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Cantonese and English localized texts for the 5 new primary categories (arb + gen-l10n). English mapping table for the 91 secondary subcategories (subtag_labels.dart; Chinese and Traditional Chinese, Cantonese use native names directly). English locale verification: Titles render as “Body & Health”, subcategories show “Head & Facial Features 229”, etc. ## VI. Cumulative Changes from Prior Releases (included in this version) Entries and example sentences prioritize English display under English locale. App follows system language on first launch. Dark mode color fixes (previous issues with illegible text and garbled characters). Localization for dictionary category popups in English. Text overflow and English rendering fixes on Learn / Quiz pages.
