Stareo

About

Remember staring at a page of colored noise until a dolphin floated out of it? Stareo hides YOUR words in there. Type a few words ("MARRY ME?", "YOU FOUND IT!", "SEE YOU AT SIX") and Stareo hides them inside a field of colored static as a 3D image only your eyes can decode. Relax your gaze, and the message floats out of the screen. Send it, and let them find it. SECRET MESSAGES Stareo checks every message as you type and tells you when it's too long to read once hidden, so what you send can actually be found. Three lettering styles. Up to three lines. SEND THE PUZZLE, THEN THE ANSWER Share the stereogram first. When they give up (or want to check), send the reveal loop: a short animation that fades from the static to your words. CAN'T SEE ONE? REVEAL IT Got a stereogram from a friend, or found one online, and can't make it out? Pick it from your photos and Stareo shows you what's hidden inside. Free, for any stereogram, not just ones made in Stareo. TUNE THE ILLUSION Push the letters further out. Change the pattern size. Pick from ten patterns and recolor any of them with a palette or your own two colors. LEARN TO SEE IT A built-in trainer starts you on an easy shape, with a red/cyan assist that shows exactly where to point your eyes. Honest note: some people can't see autostereograms at all, so try it free first. The Reveal always works. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION Everything runs on your iPhone: layout, rendering, decoding. Your messages and stereograms never leave your device. No account, no ads, and nowhere to upload them to. Stareo does send anonymous usage counts and crash reports, so bugs get found and fixed. That is off until you allow it in the EU, the UK and Switzerland, and you can switch it off anywhere in Settings. FREE TO TRY, ONE PRICE FOR EVERYTHING Free: unlimited secret messages, the Reveal, the trainer, the stereogram decoder, and the classic static pattern. Free exports carry a small Stareo band below the picture. Stareo Unlock, one purchase: exports with no band, all 10 patterns (Static, Confetti, Newsprint, Terrazzo, Neon Grid, Plasma, Laser, Wallpaper, Woodgrain, Tapestry), every color palette plus your own two-color blends. Shared with your family. No subscription, no packs, no ads. Stareo is not affiliated with Magic Eye Inc. "Magic Eye" is a trademark of its owner; this app produces autostereograms, the general technique behind that style of image.
