WaxBench: Candle Calculator

About

WaxBench is a precision utility engineered for candle makers who require exact measurements rather than rough estimates. Candle vessels are sold by liquid volume, but wax and fragrance must be measured by dry weight. WaxBench calculates exact wax mass directly from fluid volume using the specific gravity of your chosen wax base — preventing over-poured vessels, wasted supplies, and improper wick sizing. Built natively for iOS, WaxBench is private, fast, and completely offline. There are no user accounts, no tracking, no ads, and no recurring subscriptions. Core Workbench (Included Free) • Volume-to-Weight Math — Calculates net wax mass using specific gravity for Soy, Paraffin, Coconut, Beeswax, and custom blends • Multi-Oil Fragrance Formulation — Blend up to four fragrance oils with automatic normalization to your target scent load • Wick Range Guide — Starting-point recommendations across ECO, CD, LX, HTP, and wood wick series based on container diameter • Safety Guardrails — Real-time alerts when fragrance loads exceed standard retention thresholds • Thermal Reference — Temperature ranges for fragrance addition, pouring, and curing • Bidirectional Unit Conversion — Switch freely between ounces/pounds and grams/kilograms • Single Burn Test Log — Record and review one test burn session WaxBench Pro — One-Time Lifetime Unlock • Saved Recipes — Store and reload complete batch profiles, including multi-oil blends and custom density • Vessel Library — Save measured container capacities and diameters for instant reuse • Unit Costing & Margins — Calculate true per-candle cost, profit margin, and suggested retail price • Burn Test Journal — Track hourly melt pools, flame height, soot, and wick behavior. Attach photos and compare tests side-by-side • On-Device Inventory — Track remaining wax and fragrance with cost basis • Cure Timers — Local notifications when batches finish curing • PDF Export — Generate clean PDFs of recipes to share Every recommendation includes a clear disclaimer: these are starting points only. Always conduct your own burn tests.
