Pony: Ride Me Like a Pony

Pony nags you about your reminders until they're done. The name comes from a comment my daughter's school counselor made about his own ADHD, "I need someone to ride me like a pony." Say what you need to remember and how you want to be reminded, in one sentence: "call the dentist at 9, nag me every 15 minutes." Pony saves it to Apple Reminders right away and reads back what it heard. If it heard wrong, Undo is right there. Then it keeps asking. A Pony reminder doesn't go quiet after one notification. It comes back until you mark it done. WAYS TO BE REMINDED • Repeat until done: every hour unless you say otherwise • Just once • An alarm that rings through Silent and Focus on iPhone • Escalating: a notification, then Time Sensitive, then an alarm if you keep ignoring it • When you arrive at or leave a place, with an optional delay • The next time you sit down at your Mac • Early, for things due far off: "renew passport by March, start bugging me in January" • Hidden until a few days before it's due They combine. "Every weekday at 8 take meds, don't let me skip it" repeats every weekday and gets louder until you take them. NOTHING IS OVERDUE Pony sorts reminders into Now, Soon, Tomorrow, This Week, and Later. There's no overdue pile, no streak to break, and no count of how many times you snoozed. Pony will ask again later, and it's never disappointed in you. EVERYTHING STAYS IN APPLE REMINDERS Pony works on Apple Reminders directly, so Siri and the Reminders app see the same reminders it does. Add one with Siri and Pony nags you about that one too. Pony's own details, like how often to nag and which place a reminder waits for, sync through your private iCloud database. ON IPHONE • Tap the mic and talk. Dictation runs on your iPhone. • A widget and a Control Center control that open straight into listening • Siri and Shortcuts • Swipe right to snooze until tomorrow, swipe left to delete, and press and hold to edit ON MAC • Pony lives in the menu bar • Press Control-Option-P from anywhere to add a reminder • "Next time I'm at my Mac" reminders wait until you're actually at it • The pony command, for Terminal and for AI agents, with JSON output. It's a separate download from pantuso.com/pony and needs the Mac app WHEN THE WORDS ARE UNUSUAL Pony reads your sentence with its own grammar first. If part of it doesn't fit and your device has Apple Intelligence, the on-device model fills in the rest. Apple Intelligence is optional. PRIVACY No account, no server, no analytics, and no tracking. Speech recognition and the language model run on your device. Location is used only for place reminders and to note where you added a reminder, and only if you allow it. THE SUBSCRIPTION Pony is free to download, and everything works for 48 hours after your first reminder. After that, Pony needs a subscription: $14.99 a year, with the first month free for new subscribers. One subscription covers your iPhone, your Macs, and the pony command, and Family Sharing is included. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the free month ends, unless you cancel before then. The subscription renews every year unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. If you stop, your reminders stay in Apple Reminders, and Pony stops nagging.
