Board Foot Calculator: Cutlist

About

Cutlist is a board foot calculator and cut list planner for iPhone and iPad that catches nominal lumber sizes before they cost you money. Type thickness, width, length and how many pieces, and the board feet appear as you type. If the numbers look like nominal sizes, Cutlist says so: a "2x4" is really 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches, and doing the math on nominal sizes buys about 52% more lumber than a 2x4 job needs. One tap switches to the real size. FROM BOARDS TO A CUT LIST • Enter the boards you already have and the parts you need • See which part comes off which board, the offcut left on each one and the waste percentage • Parts that fit on no board are listed, never quietly dropped • Parts are packed largest first to keep waste low KERF ON EVERY CUT Three 32" parts do not come out of a 96" board once the blade takes its share. Cutlist counts the kerf on every cut: 1/16", 3/32", 1/8" or 1/4". BUILT FOR THE SHOP • Fractions the way a tape measure reads them: 1-9/16", not 1.5625 • Prefer metric? Switch to millimetres and cubic metres in Settings • Save a project and open it again at the saw • No account and no sign-in; your projects stay on your device FREE AND PRO The board foot calculator, the cut plan and the kerf setting are free, and so is one saved project. Pro adds unlimited saved projects, PDF export and sharing, and planning from mixed board lengths. Choose a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
