Deckled

About

Deckled. A private journal. A comfortable place to write. Encrypted storage on your device. Works offline, without an account. Backups and exports you control. Write about your day, keep a few notes, or take time to think. Find earlier entries in your journal, search for a word or phrase, or browse by date on the calendar. Choose Paper, Light or Dark appearance and a font you enjoy writing in. Deckled includes system fonts, Lora, Nunito Sans and Caveat. You can also set an optional daily reminder. Reminders are off by default, stay on your device and never include journal text. Your journal is stored in an encrypted database on your device. Deckled has no ads, analytics, tracking or AI processing. Ember & Pine Software does not operate a cloud service for your journal. Optional app lock uses your device's authentication options. Make an encrypted backup protected by a password you choose, or export your entries as readable text or Markdown. Restoring a backup adds entries and preserves different versions of existing writing. Keep a backup before changing phones or uninstalling Deckled. Ember & Pine Software cannot recover a forgotten backup password or a lost device key. Your operating system, keyboard and chosen export destinations have their own privacy practices. Deckled is made by Ember & Pine Software. Pay once. No subscription.
