About
Point your phone at a painting. Museumer tells you what it is, how sure it is, and adds it to your collection. MATCHED TO MUSEUM RECORDS, NOT GUESSED Most identification apps hand back a confident guess. Museumer compares your photo with records published by museums, re-examines the leading candidates and gives you exactly one of three answers: • Verified Match — the image matches a catalogued record and more than one independent signal agrees. • Likely Match — it points at a specific record, but the evidence isn't conclusive. You look at both images and decide. • Not recognised — nothing cleared the bar. The honest answer, with a web search one tap away. FILL THE MUSEUMS Every museum is a collection to complete. 389 museums in 69 countries come with a checklist of their best-known works — the Louvre, the Prado, the Uffizi, the Met, the Rijksmuseum and more — each with a progress ring, an album, and Bronze, Silver and Gold at a quarter, a half and all of the highlights. Over 62,000 museums in 187 countries are on the map, and every one of them can be filled: a work identified inside a museum goes into that museum's album, checklist or not. MUSEUMS EVERYWHERE YOU GO See which museums are near you, get directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Yandex or Waze, and read about each one — opening hours, address, website, a summary in your language. The map and the index are stored on your phone, so a basement gallery with no signal still works. SEE THE REASONING Every result shows the signals behind it: overall likeness, region-by-region composition, geometric alignment and palette. Photograph the wall label and Museumer checks its title, artist, date and accession number against the record. MADE FOR YOU A short welcome sorts you into one of four collector types — the Detective, the Collector, the Wanderer, the Storyteller — and sets the app up for the way you visit museums. SHARE YOUR FINDS Turn a work, a museum or your whole collection into a story card sized for Instagram. Only the card leaves your phone. FROM REAL COLLECTIONS Records come from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and Wikidata. Every result names the museum that holds the work and its accession number, so you can look it up yourself. BUILT FOR EVERYONE Full VoiceOver support, Dynamic Type to the largest sizes, Reduce Motion, and colour contrast measured against WCAG AA. Available in 45 languages. WHAT MUSEUMER DOES NOT DO It does not assess the physical object in front of you and makes no claim about authenticity or originality. Where a work has actually sold at auction, Museumer shows the recorded figure with its source; an AI estimate is available behind a button, labelled as an opinion. It is not an appraisal and not advice. MUSEUMER PREMIUM Browsing museums, the map, your history and your collection are free. The first scan, the first question about a work, the first value estimate, the first web search and the first story card are free too; after that they are part of Museumer Premium, an auto-renewing subscription with weekly and yearly plans. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled in your App Store account settings. Terms of Use: https://www.mehmetali.co/terms Privacy Policy: https://www.mehmetali.co/privacy Your location, your history and your photos stay on your device. A photo leaves the phone only when you ask the web or AI to look at it.
