Plainview - Clean Video Player

About

Plainview quietly swaps YouTube's player in Safari for a plain HTML5 video — and that one change fixes a surprising amount. • No ads. None, not even the skippable ones. • Picture in Picture, restored to where it belongs. • Background play — audio only, screen off, still going. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT Plainview isn't a browser or an app you have to open. It's a Safari extension that works right inside the browser you already use. Open a video on youtube.com and it's already a clean, native player. YOU'RE IN CONTROL • Default quality, per video — from Auto down to audio-only. • Keep or hide YouTube's captions. • A "use original player" button on every video, for when you want it. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No analytics. No tracking. Plainview only ever runs on youtube.com, and only to find the player and replace it. That's the whole job. Set-up takes about forty seconds — most of it is Apple's part. The app walks you through turning the extension on in Safari and granting it access to youtube.com.
