About

Speeds and feeds checked against your own machine. SpeedFeed caps the RPM at your spindle's top speed, scales the feed to hold the chip load, and tells you in plain words whether the cut will work. "Good to cut", "Capped by spindle" or "Too heavy: reduce depth to 0.18 in", with the fix one tap away. MILLING Diameter, flutes, material, depth and width of cut. RPM, feed rate and chip load update as you type; there is no Calculate button. Six materials, each with a real surface speed band for carbide and HSS, flagged when your number falls outside it. Narrow cuts get chip thinning applied, with the reason shown, and a diagram draws the cutter in the material so you can see how much of the turn is in the cut. Metal removal rate included. YOUR MACHINE'S LIMITS Save machine profiles with max RPM, spindle power and max feed. SpeedFeed estimates the power the cut needs at that RPM, compares it with what your spindle makes, and warns as you near the limit. Enter the stick-out and it checks tool deflection too. DRILL AND TAP A second mode for holes: RPM and feed for HSS, cobalt or carbide drills, peck advice by hole depth, power, torque and thrust. The tap drill chart covers 44 UNC, UNF and metric coarse and fine threads, with the real thread percentage at 75% or 65%. One tap sends the tap drill to the drill calculator, and the tapping feed is written out as RPM x pitch. TOOL CRIB AND SETUP SHEETS Save cutters with diameter, flutes, coating and stick-out, and load one in a tap. Save the whole setup under a job name and share it as a one-page PDF setup sheet, or copy it as text. ALSO It works backwards: enter the RPM and feed from an inherited program to get the surface speed and chip load. Inch or metric in one tap. Big plus and minus targets for gloved hands. A method sheet shows every formula and table behind the numbers. MADE FOR THE SHOP FLOOR The math runs on the phone, so it works offline under two feet of concrete. The only part that goes online is the feedback form, when you choose to send a message. No account, no ads. The cutting data is a conservative starting point, not a replacement for your tooling manufacturer's figures. Check it against your cutter, your setup and your machine before you cut. SpeedFeed covers milling, drilling and tapping on a mill or router; it does not do turning.
