Montessori Stories is a picture book that reads itself aloud — and then knows when to stop. Twenty-one illustrated stories for children aged 2 to 7. Each one runs a few minutes, narrated page by page, with every word lighting up as it is read. IT ENDS ON PURPOSE In the evening the app turns to bedtime on its own. The colours go warm and dim, the library fills with quiet stories, and when the last page is done the screen fades slowly to black and stays there. Nothing plays next. Nothing asks your child to keep going. READ ALONG, WORD BY WORD The narration lights up each word as it is spoken, so a child who is not reading yet still follows the line, and a child who is starting to read has something to follow. SOME STORIES ASK YOU TO MOVE Thirteen of the twenty-one stories are interactive: on most of their pages, the story pauses and asks your child to do something — lift your knees high, swing your arm like a trunk, clap to turn on the light, cover your eyes. Once they do, the story goes on. The other eight stories play straight through, no pausing at all. THIRTY-TWO LANGUAGES The same pictures, the same story, your child's own words: Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. Raising a child in two languages? Switch whenever you like. The English stories come with the app; the others download the first time you open one, then play offline. A DOOR FOR GROWN-UPS Settings, the subscription, and anything that leaves the app sit behind a parent gate a child cannot pass by accident. ON SCREEN TIME We think a screen should earn its place. Montessori Stories is built for one story at a time, ideally with you beside them. There are no ads, no autoplay, no feed, and nothing designed to keep anybody watching.
