The five slots: volume, requests per second with a peak multiplier, payload and egress, concurrency, and the judgment line. Design, 15 minutes. Boxes and arrows, only after the numbers exist. Parking lot, 5 minutes. Every open question lands here, and then you close them out. The clock shows the time left in the current step and the time left overall. In the last minute of a step the digits turn warm. That is the only thing on the screen that moves. WHY PAPER A real interview is a pen, a page and a clock.
