Homestead Ledger is the records app for small farms that keep a little of everything — goats, chickens, cattle, pigs, sheep, rabbits, bees — and are tired of keeping it in a notebook, a spreadsheet, and their head. Built for 5 to 100 animals, not a thousand. Simple enough to use standing in the barn, complete enough to hand to your accountant in January. ANIMALS AND GROUPS - Every animal with tag, breed, sex, photo, and notes - Groups for your herd, flock, or pasture — move animals between them in a tap - Pedigree card with three generations and offspring - Weight history with average daily gain and days-to-target BREEDING AND HEALTH - Breedings, due dates, and births with automatic reminders - Treatments with withdrawal tracking so you know exactly when meat, milk, or eggs are clear to sell - Label-sourced withdrawal days for common cattle, pig, sheep, and goat products - Protocols per species so routine care creates its own reminders DAILY LOG - Egg counts, milk by session, feed usage, and anything else worth writing down - Six-month view so you can spot the pattern, not just the day MONEY - Every purchase and sale, tagged to the animal or group it belongs to - Feed inventory with cost per head per day and low-stock alerts - Buyers and receivables for milk, eggs, or livestock sold on a statement — see what you're owed - Scan a receipt and let the app fill in the line items for you YEAR-END - One PDF with income, expenses, sales by buyer, and your animal count — everything your tax preparer asks for SHARE THE FARM - Invite family or a farm hand with a six-character code - Owner, full, or log-only access so the kids can record eggs without touching the books WORKS OFFLINE - No signal in the back pasture?
