About

One payment of $24.99, never a subscription. The diagnostic, the whole exam guide and a new question every day cost nothing. Is this the exam I'm taking? If your state uses the NIC written exams, yes: 1,737 practice questions built on the 10 subject areas of the outline NIC publishes today, in English and in Spanish. Each explanation names the public authority behind it — the CDC, OSHA, the EPA, the FDA, the National Institutes of Health or a state board rule — so you never have to take "the answer is C" on trust. Switch the whole app to Spanish whenever you like; your progress stays. How close is it to test day? 13 full-length tests, and no two in a series share a question: 8 Theory tests of 100 questions in 90 minutes and 5 Written Practical tests of 65 questions. Test 4 is always Test 4, so a retake tells you whether you improved. The two exams are weighted differently — on the Written Practical, nail care goes from 10% to 20% and skin care from 10% to 15%, while scientific concepts drop from 35% to 20% — and each test draws exactly the per-area count the outline gives. How do I know I'm ready? There is no made-up "87% ready". Licensed checks three things and shows the number for each: how much of the bank you have answered, whether any area is still weak, and whether you passed your last two full tests. When all three hold, it tells you. Where do I start? With the free 10-question diagnostic, split like the real exam. It names your two weakest areas before you spend anything. Then a scored, timed test of twenty-five questions on any single area. What about the hands-on practical? No app can train your hands, but the practical is failed on procedure far more than on skill, and the procedure is published. The free guide walks through all ten timed sections, what the proctor reads aloud and the rules that sink people who know the work: wipes only, no sprays; printed labels in English, nothing handwritten; and marking anything single-use can fail you outright. What else is in there? - Flashcards: question on the front, answer and its source on the back, your misses first - Touch-ups: every question you missed comes back until you have it nailed - A study streak that counts the days you actually studied, and an optional daily study appointment - A home-screen widget with today's question - Progress per test and per area, dark mode and accessibility text sizes - Right and wrong marked with an icon, not only a color What is free and what is Pro? Free: 30 questions (3 from every area), today's question, the diagnostic and the full exam guide. Licensed Pro, bought once: the whole bank, all 13 tests and every area test, with no limit on attempts. Restore it on any iPhone signed in with the same Apple ID. — Licensed is an independent study aid, not affiliated with NIC, any state board, any test administrator or any textbook publisher. Every question and explanation is original; no exam content or textbook text is reproduced. NIC does not set the passing score — your state board does. Licensed uses 75% and says so; check your own board.
