Maneki is a real-time voice conversation with a lucky cat who came to life. She speaks only Japanese. She does not understand English. When you get stuck she does not switch languages — she says the same thing again, simpler. Most people read and write Japanese far better than they speak it. What stops them is not vocabulary, it is being heard. A cat has no audience: nothing happens when you are wrong, there is no booking, and no one is waiting. She asks short questions and listens. There is no score, no streak to break, and no grammar correction unless you ask for it. Her job is to keep you talking. Everything she says appears on screen in Japanese while she says it.
