Dearby is a private journal for the places that matter, and a map for the people you choose. Save a café, a street, a trip, or an ordinary corner—and, when you both agree, see trusted friends on the map. SEE FRIENDS ON YOUR MAP Share your invite code, or enter a friend’s code. Location sharing starts only after you both add each other. On the map, see where friends are, how far away they are, and when their location was last updated. OPEN A FRIEND Tap a friend to see their current place, today’s route, and recent stops. Battery and network appear with the location. Open directions in Maps when you want to head their way. SHARE IN THE BACKGROUND If you allow Always location, Dearby can update your shared location while the app is in the background, so friends you both added can still see you when you are not looking at Dearby. Background location is used only for this purpose—not for ads. PAUSE WHEN YOU WANT Use privacy mode on the map to pause location sharing. Remove a friend whenever you choose. You can also change location access in iOS Settings. CAPTURE A PLACE Search for an address, move the map, or use your current location. Write what made the place special, then save it to your journal. ADD A PHOTO Take a picture or choose one from your library. Each memory can include one photo. REVISIT YOUR JOURNAL Your memories stay in one quiet list. Open any entry to see the place name, address, your note, the date, and the photo. SHARE A JOURNAL CARD Turn a memory into a journal-style card. Choose one of three layouts, then save the image to Photos or share it with the apps you already use. OPTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION Some features may require a subscription. Length, price, and any free trial are shown in the App before you pay. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings. Restore Purchases is available in Settings. STAY IN CONTROL Edit or delete a memory whenever you want. Update your profile name and photo, or delete your account and its associated data from Settings. PRIVACY FIRST Dearby creates an anonymous account for this device. You do not need an email address or phone number to begin. Friends can see your location only after you both agree. You can pause sharing at any time. Location is used to show you on the map, to save a place for a memory, and—if you allow Always—to keep sharing with consented friends while the app is in the background. Dearby is for anyone who wants to remember meaningful places and stay close to people they trust, without a public feed.
