About

Hear a bird you can’t see? Record 12 seconds on your iPhone and BirdHere suggests likely birds. Identification is free and unlimited. It runs on your iPhone and works offline once your home region is installed: no account, no ads, and your recording never leaves the device. BirdHere ranks likely birds from songs and calls, not photos. It can flag some faint or noisy recordings and may show no confident match. Results are suggestions: compare the recording and confirm what you heard. HOW IT WORKS • Record 12 seconds of a song, call or chirp • The on-device model ranks the likely species, using your approximate location and the time of year if you allow it • Compare the top candidates and see which part of the recording matched • Wind, traffic and voices are flagged, so you know when a result is shaky • Confirm or reject each result to build your private field log, life list and listening map WHAT IS INSIDE • A worldwide field guide to 11,149 species with standard common and scientific names • 40 regional sound models, including Eastern and Western North America, Hawai’i, Britain & Ireland and Japan • Species pages with your own records: how often and when you heard each bird • Optional community photos from iNaturalist, always credited; recognition itself stays offline • Outings that group what you heard on each walk • Optional local usage counts are off by default. Aggregate analytics requires consent and a configured service. Analytics excludes recordings, notes and location. No ads. MORE WAYS TO LISTEN • Designed for iPad as well as iPhone, with results right beside the recorder • Start listening from a Home Screen or Lock Screen widget, from Control Center or with the Action Button • With World Pass, Live Listen keeps going with the screen locked and shows the latest bird in a Live Activity and the Dynamic Island • Record on Apple Watch and your iPhone identifies the bird. Watch capture is part of World Pass, with 10 free captures to try it FREE Unlimited 12-second identifications, the top three candidates, one home region (change it every 90 days), the worldwide guide, photos, your map, 50 confirmed sightings in the field log and three Live Listen samples. WORLD PASS Continuous Live Listen with a timeline of every bird that joins in, audio and video import, every candidate side by side, an unlimited field log with saved recordings, CSV export, all 40 regions and the worldwide model. There are three ways to get it, with the same features: a Season pass (3 months), a Yearly pass or a Lifetime pass. Season and Yearly are auto-renewing subscriptions: payment is charged to your Apple Account, and they renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. The Lifetime pass does not renew. Bird identification can be wrong. Check important sightings against the recording and a trusted reference. LIVE LIMITS Three free samples per install: up to 3 minutes each, counted after 20 seconds. Free samples stop when you leave the app or lock the screen. World Pass sessions last up to 1 hour and can continue with the screen locked. No free subscription trial. Buying Lifetime does not cancel an existing subscription.
