About
Marginalia (朱批) is a reader for marking up long documents. Import a draft, highlight passages and attach notes the way a teacher grades an essay, then export every annotation as one structured piece of feedback — ready to paste back into your writing tool, or send to the author. READ • Imports Markdown, txt, Word (docx), HTML and RTF • Three ways in: "Open with" from Files, AirDrop, or the system share sheet • Typography tuned for long-form reading: three themes (paper, sepia, night), serif toggle, adjustable size, spacing and margins • Chapter outline, reading-progress memory, nested folders ANNOTATE • Long-press to select, then attach a note in one of four types: revise, question, comment, to-do • Annotated passages stay underlined with a numbered vermilion seal — tap to view, edit or delete • Dictate notes by voice; audio is never uploaded or stored • An overview lists every note by chapter, with filtering and one-tap jumps EXPORT • Marginal-notes Markdown: original text and notes side by side, so your writing tool knows exactly which sentence each remark refers to • Plain list: just the feedback • JSON with anchor fingerprints, for scripts YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS No account, no server, no analytics, no ads. Documents live on your device and sync through your own iCloud private database across iPhone and iPad. The developer has no way to read your content. Everything is free.
