About

HPSS turns your iPad into a fast, low-latency display and control surface for your Mac over the local network, using macOS Screen Sharing's High Performance mode. Connect to any Mac on your network that has Screen Sharing turned on and you get the Mac's desktop streamed in hardware-decoded HEVC with audio, at the resolution and scale you choose for the iPad's screen. Your Mac keeps running as normal; HPSS simply gives you another way to see and use it. Trackpad-style control One finger moves the pointer, tap to click, two fingers to scroll or right-click, three fingers to drag, pinch to zoom. Hardware keyboards and trackpads work too, with the Mac's modifiers and shortcuts. Keyboard companion Run HPSS on an iPhone next to the iPad and it becomes a keyboard and trackpad for the session, with the same shortcut bar. Made for text A keyboard bar with sticky Command, Option, Control and Shift keys, Escape, Tab and the common shortcuts one tap away. The picture slides up so the Mac's cursor is never hidden behind the keyboard. Display presets Pick the resolution and scale that suits the job: native iPad resolution, a larger Mac desktop, or Retina. Switch any time during a session. Also • Finds nearby Macs automatically • Clipboard text and images sync both ways • Stays connected through quick app switches and returns to a fresh picture when you come back Requirements A Apple Silicon Mac on the same local network with Screen Sharing (or Remote Management) enabled in System Settings, and a user account on that Mac to sign in with. Nothing leaves your network: HPSS has no account, no cloud service and collects no data.
