Organize any kind of information into scalable groups. Call individual pieces tasks, items, assets, or anything else you prefer. Call groups projects, folders, sets, or whatever you are used to. Enter data quickly and include only the essential details. Assign each piece of data to as many groups as you want to give it multiple contexts, without the usual chaos of tags, flags, and keywords. Manage group hierarchies by creating sub-elements to enrich your context, or keep them flat if you prefer. Spokel is a project and task manager for structured work. Items are captured in a flat list, then placed in a project and arranged in a hierarchy of any depth. A parent task inherits its start, finish, and completion from its children. The same item can belong to more than one project, with dates and status kept per project. The project timeline is a Gantt chart. Each task is a bar. Drag a bar to change its start, finish, or duration. Zoom ranges from one day to one year. The visible period moves forward and backward, and Now returns to the current date. The project summary reports total time and completion as figures and charts. Files stay with the task. Images, office documents, and PDFs are stored in the app and opened from the item. A project exports as one file and imports as a working copy, so another user can keep the structure and enter their own status and dates. The full library can be backed up and restored. In Settings, the two labels can be changed to match the work: tasks and projects, assets and folders, or another pair. Spokel is for people who plan a project as a sequence of tasks, keep a register of assets with dates and documents, or track file versions against an item. There is no account.
