• Writing on two devices now works together. Changes made on your iPhone and iPad are combined automatically, even when both are open on the same chapter. Only if the same words are changed on both at once is one version kept aside in the chapter's Notes, so nothing is ever lost. • Books can now be rearranged. Press and hold to drag one into place, or use Manage. • If a book or chapter is deleted on another of your devices while it's open, Platen now tells you instead of letting you keep writing into it. • Plain-text exports now arrive as a proper .txt file, ready to email, save or open in any word processor. • A friendlier welcome screen for new books, and updated Tips.

About
Platen is a writing app that lets you write. No AI. No project templates. No corkboards. Nothing to configure. Create your chapters and get on with it. Your book, easy to navigate: Your book is a list of chapters. Create them, rename them, reorder them, and jump straight to the one you want. Search the whole book when you know a line is in there somewhere, and watch the word count climb as you write. Plot and character notes stay with the book. Chapter notes stay with the chapter. Everything is where you would expect it to be. Your work, kept safe: Every keystroke is saved as you go. Start a chapter on your phone and carry on at your desk. Your writing stays on your devices and in your own iCloud account. There's no Platen account to create, no server holding your manuscript, and nobody else can read it. Including us. Ready when you are: Export a clean manuscript as PDF or plain text whenever you need it, in A4 or US Letter. Why I made Platen I write novels. I tried a lot of writing apps and browser tools, and most of them made writing feel more complicated than it needed to be. So I built the one I wanted: somewhere simple to keep a novel, find my way around it, and write.
