About
ScrubPony removes the hidden metadata from your photos while leaving the picture itself untouched. Phones write a lot into every photo you take: GPS coordinates, the exact date and time, the camera and phone model, and small embedded thumbnails. ScrubPony strips those out and writes a fresh, clean copy. The image data is copied through byte for byte, so the photo looks exactly the same. It works on JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC, including the HEICs iPhone cameras save by default. Pick one photo or a whole batch. Everything happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded and no network is used. Picking photos and scrubbing need no permission at all; saving a clean copy into Photos uses an add-only prompt the first time, and ScrubPony never reads your existing library. Your original files are never changed. Every scrub produces a new copy that you can save to Photos, save to any folder in Files, or share straight to another app. You can also share photos into ScrubPony from any other app's share sheet. The metadata handling is the same C core as the desktop ScrubPony, compiled into the app. It is open source under the Apache License 2.0.
