That is exactly the moment a penny shopping app has to work, and it is exactly the moment most of them stop working. Penny List keeps your whole list on the phone. Every lookup is answered on the device, so the back of the store, a dead zone and Airplane Mode all behave the same as full signal. No spinner. No loading. No trip wasted. BRING THE LIST YOU ALREADY FOLLOW Penny List does not sell you someone else's list. Shopper communities and coupon sites publish a fresh one every week, and you already read one. Copy it, paste it in, and every barcode on it becomes instantly scannable. Extra text is fine. The app picks out the barcodes and skips the rest. You can also import a text or CSV file, type a barcode by hand, or add a find while you are scanning. A SCANNER THAT IS NOT BROKEN Point the camera at the shelf and keep walking. Penny List scans continuously, so you do not tap between items. The capture view is orientation locked, so it cannot flip upside down while you are holding the phone at an angle. There is a torch toggle for bottom shelves, and every read confirms with its own haptic pattern and its own tone, so you can work a shelf without looking at the screen. Three answers, and only three, each with its own word, its own color and its own symbol: PENNY, WATCH, or NOT ON LIST. Tag an item at the stage you saw it and Penny List shows you everything sitting one markdown from the bottom, so you know what to check next week. YOUR OWN RECORD, NOT A STRANGER'S Mark what actually rang up at a penny and what did not. Every barcode carries your own confirm and miss history with dates, and anything you have not checked in sixty days greys out on its own. A crowd list with no freshness signal is how you end up driving across town for nothing. TRACK WHAT YOU SAVED Log a haul and Penny List adds up what you spent against what the shelf price would have been, keeps a streak, and can tag each haul with the store it came from. Penny stock is per store, so the same list pays off differently across town. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION There is no account and no server. Your lists, your hauls and your history are stored on your device and are never uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload them to. The camera reads frames as they arrive and keeps none of them. WHAT IS FREE One list of up to 250 barcodes, unlimited scanning, markdown tagging and your full verification record are free. Scanning is never rate limited. Free also includes two list imports a day. PENNY LIST PRO Pro removes the caps: unlimited lists with no size limit, one scan checked against every list you have imported, your full haul history with CSV export, store tagging with a haul map, notes on any item, and a reminder on the morning new penny items usually appear. Pro is available as a weekly or yearly auto renewing subscription, or as a one time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
