About
Learn the words that matter, in the order that pays off fastest. EngWord teaches 2,997 English words ranked by how often they appear in everyday English. Not alphabetical, not random: the next word is always the most valuable one you could learn right now. Ten words a day. All 2,997 in a year. NOTHING IS LOCKED Every word is available the moment you install. No subscription, no "5 words a day" free tier, no level gates. The app is free and paid for by ads — that is the trade, stated plainly. You will not memorise 11,000 words. You will actually learn the 2,997 that carry ordinary English. A1 TO C1 Every word is tagged with its CEFR band: 600 at A1, 600 at A2, 700 at B1, 600 at B2, 497 at C1. You choose where to start. SPACED REPETITION Each word comes back just before you would have forgotten it. Words you know drift further apart; words you keep missing come round sooner. Daily reviews are capped, so missing a day never leaves a mountain waiting. IN YOUR OWN LANGUAGE Meanings in 18 languages, plus a monolingual mode that shows English definitions instead. Every word carries an example sentence translated by a person, not a machine. MORE THAN FLASHCARDS Multiple choice, spelling, listening and classic cards. You meet each word from several directions — the difference between recognising it and remembering it. SEE WHERE YOU ARE A coverage figure for roughly how much everyday English you know, plus streak, XP, levels, 17 badges and a weekly study chart. Streak freezes cover the day you miss. WORKS OFFLINE Words, meanings and example sentences ship inside the app. No account, no sign-up, no server. Your progress stays on your phone.
