About

Blindspot turns a diagram into flashcards, on the device you actually study on. Pick a picture. Drag a rectangle over each label. Every rectangle is now a card. That is the entire workflow β€” no note types to configure, no add-ons to install, no desktop computer in the loop. WHY THIS APP EXISTS Image occlusion is how you learn a labelled diagram: an anatomy plate, a pharmacology pathway, a wiring loom, a cockpit panel. Cover the label, try to name it, check. It works because you are recalling, not re-reading. The tools that do it well are desktop tools. The iPhone apps that offer it want a subscription β€” every month, forever, for cards you already made. Blindspot is the third option: it makes the cards on your phone, and you pay for it once. BRING THE DECKS YOU ALREADY HAVE Open a .apkg deck file β€” the format Anki exports β€” straight from Files or a share sheet. Blindspot reads decks and subdecks, notes, cards, images, and the part that actually matters: your review history. Your cards come back due when they were already due. Nothing silently resets to new. And if something cannot be carried across, Blindspot says so, by name and by count. A partial import that reports success is how people lose three years of scheduling without noticing β€” usually months later, when the cards start coming back wrong. FSRS-6 SCHEDULING The modern spaced-repetition algorithm, not SM-2. It models how fast you specifically forget a specific card, and schedules the next review for the day you are about to. Every review you ever answer is kept, because the algorithm is fitted over that history and throwing it away means the scheduler can never get better at you. TWO WAYS TO MASK Reveal one β€” only the label you are being asked about is covered. The surrounding labels give you context, which is what you want the first time you meet a plate. Reveal all β€” every label is covered and one is marked. Nothing is given away. This is the mode that actually tests recall. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No account. No sign-in. No server. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDK, no third-party code of any kind. Your pictures and your decks stay on your device. This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your data β€” there is no networking code in the app at all, so there is nothing to handle. Works with no signal, on a plane, in a basement library. PAY ONCE One purchase. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no "pro" tier, no per-deck unlock. You buy the app and you own it. BUILT FOR Medical, dental, nursing, veterinary and biology students learning labelled anatomy. Pharmacology pathways and mechanisms. Aviation and marine students learning panels and systems. Mechanics and engineers learning assemblies and schematics. Anyone who has ever taken a photo of a diagram and wished it would ask them questions. Landscape and iPad are supported properly, because a wide plate on a phone in portrait is the worst way to do this. Blindspot is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ankitects Pty Ltd. Anki is their trademark; it is named here only to say which file format this app can read.
