That is the whole point of the thing, and everything else is built so that this part never gets slow. AS DEEP AS YOU NEED, NOT DEEPER Inventory, location, container, item — and every level is optional. "Home → Garage → Shelf B → Drill" if you want the detail. Just "Move 2026 → Box 14" if you do not. One structure covers moving, storage, a collection, a furnished rental and a small shop, so you are not running four different systems. PHOTOGRAPH IT INSTEAD OF TYPING IT Point the camera into an open box. Kod Inventory suggests what it can see, and counts what it can count. You confirm — suggestions never become records on their own. All of that analysis runs on this device; no photo is sent anywhere for processing. PHOTOS ARE THE EVIDENCE For an insurance claim, a picture of the shelf is worth more than a tidy list of nouns. Photos are first-class entries here, not decorative attachments. THINGS MOVE WITHOUT LOSING THEIR PAST Move an item to another box, another room or another property and its history moves with it. You can still see where it has been. WORTH IT WHEN IT MATTERS Quantity, condition, value, SKU and serial numbers are there when the use case needs them, and out of the way when it does not. Household contents for insurance and shelf stock for a market stall are the same app with different fields showing. ENCRYPTED ON YOUR DEVICE Everything is encrypted before it is written down, with a key derived from a master password only you know. Not a login: there is no account, no server of ours, and nothing to sign up for. SYNCS THROUGH YOUR OWN iCLOUD Your devices stay in step through your private iCloud database, and what travels is already encrypted. Apple stores something it has no key for. Kod Inventory opens and works with no network at all — which matters in a garage or a storage unit. ONE VAULT, SEVERAL APPS Kod Inventory reads and writes the same encrypted vault as Kod, Kod Identity, Kod Case and Kod Property. Contents recorded here are the contents Kod Property shows for that address. Kod Inventory is complete on its own. NO RECOVERY, BY DESIGN No copy of your master password exists anywhere, so nobody can be persuaded to hand your data over — and nobody can get it back for you either. That is the trade, stated plainly rather than in the small print.
