Nothing streams. Once you are signed in, the whole thing works with the signal off and the phone face down. SLEEP STORIES Readings for grown-ups, narrated over the same soundscapes: Walden, The Wind in the Willows, Aesop's Fables, Japanese Fairy Tales — and originals written for one place at a time, a sleeper train after midnight, a smoke sauna by a lake, the ice on a curling sheet. Seven to forty-eight minutes, with free readings to start. The reading ends and the sound plays on, so a short story still carries a long timer. Layer sounds over a beat — rain at 72%, a composed piece underneath at 44%, a 0.5 Hz delta beat holding it together at 40% — and save the result. A cascade you can barely hear under a low beat is a different night from rain at full volume. GENERATED, NOT STREAMED The tones are synthesised on your device in real time rather than downloaded. No buffering, no library to store, no connection required. It also means the beat is exact: the frequency you chose is the frequency you get, held for as long as you play it.
