PurlTap: Knitting Rowboard

PurlTap is a knitting and crochet field workbook built around the workpiece on your needles or hook. It replaces a generic tally screen with a linked rowboard, pattern map, shaping schedule, fitbook and append-only ledger. BUILD A LIVE ROWBOARD Open a named workpiece and record each completed row or round from one large, calm control. PurlTap shows the current work side, active pattern section, exact repeat number and step, marker note and next scheduled shaping action together. Lock the board while handling your work, then seal a row session with its net progress and ordered ledger tip. MAP SECTIONS AND REPEATS Translate the pattern you already own into named row ranges such as rib, body texture or armhole shaping. Give each section its own repeat length, short instruction pointer and marker note. The rowboard changes section automatically when the recorded row crosses a boundary and keeps the repeat position visible. PLAN SHAPING BY ROW Schedule increases, decreases, bind-offs and short rows from a first row, interval, repeat count and work side. PurlTap expands the plan into individual occurrences, highlights what is due and records when an action is handled. It does not invent pattern instructions or alter your pattern. KEEP A DATED FITBOOK Record swatch stitches, rows, measured width and height, needle or hook, and whether the swatch is unwashed, washed or blocked. PurlTap converts readings to a 10 cm baseline and compares them with optional target gauge. Save body, sleeve or custom measurements with the construction stage or row where they were taken. Corrections are new readings that retain the earlier value. REVIEW AN APPEND-ONLY LEDGER Row work, section changes, shaping checks, gauge readings, measurements and session seals create ordered local entries. A correction adds a linked entry instead of silently rewriting history. Export the workbook as JSON, CSV or a readable text field record through the system share sheet. LOCAL, FREE AND PATTERN-SAFE PurlTap has no account, subscription, in-app purchase, paid feature or pattern marketplace. Existing PurlTap projects, counters, yarn details, gauge, photo references and local reminder records migrate into Workbook v2 on this device. Your own pattern remains the source of truth for stitch instructions, sizing and materials. Labelled ads may appear only away from the live Rowboard and Pattern screens. App-open ads never appear on first launch or during an open row session and are conservatively capped. An optional rewarded ad pauses ads for 30 minutes; it never gates a workbook feature. Ad requests fail closed until consent allows them.
